IT Company situated in Technopark, Stellenbosch, specialising in software solutions to the telecommunications industry, seeks a Support Engineer. Overview The employee will be mainly responsible for handling initial contact of support queries from clients. Employee must respond to, evaluate and escalate support queries by following proper procedure.

Main duties & responsibilities

To learn and know our products by heart

Client support – using best suited electronic means available

Capturing, reporting and analysis of support tickets and problems associated

Determining and handling Customer issues

Analysing symptoms to determine underlying problems

Troubleshoot by writing and documenting SQL reporting queries and possibly other database procedures and structures

Maintaining client database and user information

Know and adhere to support regulations for each client according to SLA

Candidates must have
B.Sc. Computer Science or B.Comm. Computer Science degree
Solid experience with SQL database (preferably MySQL and Oracle)
Solid PHP programming experience (advanced object oriented coding)
Linux desktop experience, system administration experience welcomed
Spoken and written English must be excellent

Recommendations
Experience in a 24/7 ICT helpdesk environment, with associated applicable SLAs
Experience in the telecommunication environment, in particular related to mobile network operators
Interest in the ICT industry and in particular mobile network operators
Working spoken/written knowledge of French or Arabic

Extras pertaining to the position
This position is a support position, therefore: shifts will be rotated between being on support office bound or being on remote standby

Salary bracket – CTC per month
R9 000 – R15 000 CTC per month. Negotiable based on experience, qualification & work days/hours.

Project Manager/Account Manager

The Project Manager/Account Manager will be responsible to co-ordinate the software & web development as well the implementation of the software.

Project Manager/Account Manager’s responsibilities will include:

Co-ordinate project kick-off with client to check project specifications and schedule report to the Technical Director on all project matters

Deliver a weekly report to the Technical Director on project status

Manage the development team assigned to the specific client or product

Assist in determining the functional process flows & client requirements

Assist in defining customization required per client or software application

Assist with acquiring all project information prior to customization, which will involve all process and integration information with 3rd parties & client

Assist with defining and obtaining all technical information pertaining to the software implementation

Gives presentations or briefings on all aspects of the project

Participates in phase, milestone, and final project reviews

Identifies project documentation requirements or procedures and assists in the compilation of this project documentation

Conduct User Acceptance Tests (UAT) with client

Develops, modifies, or provides input to project plans

Implements project plans to meet objectives

Coordinates and integrates project activities

Manages & administers project resources

Implements or maintains quality assurance processes

Makes improvements, solves problems, and be proactive

Skills Requirement

The ideal candidate should have the following skills and abilities:

Project Management degree or any other business degree

Min of 2 years Project Management experience

People management skills – capable of supervising and managing the development team

Client management skills – committed to providing excellent customer service

Communication skills – with management, client, development team etc

Team player – the person will work closely with all co-workers & clients

Principles and techniques used in budget management

Good communication skills & techniques

Personal Profile

Must be in possession of a valid passport

Must be willing to travel frequently and for extended periods of time

Must have own transport & valid drivers license

Salary
Negotiable – based on experience
